FURNACE OIL

Furnace oil, commonly known as fuel oil or heating oil, is a liquid fuel derived from petroleum that plays a crucial role in heating applications. It is primarily utilized in residential homes, commercial buildings, and various industrial facilities to provide warmth and energy.

This type of oil is produced through the process of fractional distillation of crude oil, which separates the different components based on their boiling points. Furnace oil is classified as a heavy distillate, meaning it has a higher viscosity, making it thicker and more resistant to flow compared to lighter fuels like gasoline or diesel. Additionally, its lower volatility means it evaporates less readily, making it safer to store and transport.

Furnace oil is typically used in oil-fired boilers and furnaces, where it is combusted to generate heat. It is favored in regions where natural gas is not readily available, providing a reliable alternative for heating. Its properties make it suitable for applications that require consistent and sustained heating over long periods, contributing to its widespread use across various sectors.
